She is local to me.
I am wondering if anyone knows anything about setting up a Red Cross fund, or some other fund that doesn't require paypal soliciations? I personally am not comfortable with a paypal type deal.
She sounded well, but she is overwhelmed as is to be expected.
My husband works at a bank, and we are thinking about trying to get a fund set up for donations.
I really want to help her!! If anyone has ideas, send them my way!

i left a message about this earlier. i def want to help out. i think we should get people from other boards involved as well. i know that a lot of people were helpful when books4brooke had her fire, i imagine people would want to help marinewife as well.
thank you so much for getting in touch with her and trying to help arrange something. please let me know if there is anything at all i can do to help.
Can your husband set up an account at his bank for her? I can't remember the specifics but when I worked at a bank a few years ago there was an account set up to help a local family after they had been through something devestating.
It wasn't in that person's name, but some type of group name or something like that. I wish I could remember...
Anyway, it was on the news and people came in for weeks to make deposits in the account. Others who don't have a local branch of whatever bank your DH works at would be able to mail a check to the bank and indicate they want it deposited in that account.
Just a thought. Good luck.
