Another cloth diaper question!

Our little girl arrived on Sunday!  Yesterday I started using the cloth diapers.  I've just been putting the soiled diapers in the wet bag without rinsing them.  This won't ruin the diapers as long as I'm washing them every other day right?  Or do I need to rinse the poopy diapers when I take them off her?

So many questions!  I almost started having a freak out this morning thinking about this.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Another cloth diaper question!

  • We BF exclusively the first 6 months and since BM is water soluable I did not do a pre-rinse on my CD (which were PF and Kissaluvs) and had no issues with staining or smells.  In fact, I never even did an extra rinse after the wash- I just did a hot wash/cold rinse.  I didn't start adding a pre-rinse and extra rinse after the wash until we introduced foods.

  • Thanks!  I am EBF so you have been very helpful!  I'm using kissaluvs and thirsties although I haven't put her in a thirstie yet.  The kissaluvs fit her really good.  I have one newborn B4 that I'm going to use for the first time tonight.  I'll have to take a picture of her fluffly bum after I put it on.
  • Even if you start using formula, you won't have to alter your routine - no need to scrape or rinse until they start solids.

    ETA - and congrats!
