DD has a 103 fever

I'm at work & freaking out. DH is on his way to get her. I have NO days left to take off. I would have to take a no-pay day. This is killing me. When I went to my boss & said Sophie has a 103 fever do I have any days left? She just shook her head no. Didn't say, just go. Nothing. I just walked away & cried.

  • I'm sorry. I hope she feels better soon.

  • I'm so sorry. : (
I am glad your DH will be with her though. That's a good thing.
    Hope she feels better.
  • My DS had a fever of all most 104 the other day. I gave him Motin/Tylenol and the fever went down. If it didn't the pedi suggested I take him to the ER.

    Hope she feels better soon.

  • I hope she feels better and sorry your boss sucks!  I don't have any paid days off, so If I don't work, I don't get paid.

  • Keep in mind that when babies get fevers they usually are higher than when we get them.  To us 103 is big--to them it isn't as big.  And there are so many viruses going around.  Just know your DH will take care of her.  OR--can you guys afford a no-pay day???  To me, it's worth it.

  • You poor thing, that is the worst feeling. I'm sure her daddy will take great care of her until you get home.

  • At least your DH can take care of your DD.  My DD had 104.5 a few months back and I freaked out.  By time I got her to the doctor a few hours later her temp was almost normal (I have her tylenol/motrin) and they sent me on my way.  I hope she feels better.  Maybe you can leave a few hours early.

  • I'm sorry.  Your boss sucks.  I hope your DD feels better soon.  I'm sure DH will take great care of her, but I know how you just want to be with them when they're sick.
  • It sucks that you're stuck at work, but at least she's with your DH. I'm sure he'll take great care of her until you get home. Hope she feels better soon.
  • I'm sorry your dd isn't feeling well. It sounds like your boss doesn't have children and is not understanding. If I were you I would go in there and tell her you are going to leave and see if she minds. I mean afterall she should understand it is your dd.

  • DH is going to get her now. Taking her to the ped at 1pm. She had a well visit scheduled anyway. Daycare gave her some Tylenol & said she was acting a little better. So thats good.

She just got off of the nebulizer & anitbiotics for an upper respitory infection. So this is really frustrating. She went Monday & got a clean bill of health.

I just hate that I can't run to her. I would of if DH couldn't though. I'm also just upset because my boss is a BFF to me since JR High. She didn't seem to care that Sophie was sick. I think she's annoyed because I've taken so much time off with Sophie being sick so often. She doesn't have children so she doesn't get it sometimes. I'll also add that she doesn't want children not just not have any.

  • I imagine that with the recent events on this board that is even more scary than it would usually be Sad I'm sure your baby will be okay. Maybe just see if you can skip your lunch break and leave early?
  • I would just go.  Your boss can't pay you if that's not the policy.  Doesn't mean you shouldn't go.
