what do you do with LO when you shower?

I think we are done with the morning nap which is going to make it really hard for me to shower for the day. I have been putting DD in the pack n play downstairs (I can still hear her) while I shower. I feel bad because I feel like she's too old to be confined to the pnp but what else is there?

I have to shower upstairs so I can't have her be close by to me because of the stairs so she has to be downstairs in the pnp.

What do you do?

Anyone else still use the pnp for these things?

DH watches the kids when I shower. There's no way I could do it during the day so I shower at night. It just makes everything easier.

DS plays in the bathroom while I shower or I'll take one during his nap if I want a quiet, relaxing shower.

I either shower while she naps or while she's in bed for the night.

DD is usually in the bathroom with me while I shower. I just close the door and let her run free. I have glass shower doors, so I can always see what she is doing.

Our DS does a morning nap still so on the weekends if my H isn't available to watch him, I shower during the nap. Can you wake up before she does and shower then?

pnp, crib, or I'll bring him in the bathroom with me and let him play with the toliet paper roll. LOL.

During the week, he is still sleeping in the morning while I take my shower and get ready for word. thank goodness.

If I have to shower while DS is awake (DH is at work and I have plans), I block off our hallway with a gate and leave the bathroom door open. He then has access to the bathroom and the (small) hallway. I also put a bunch of toys that he hasn't played with in a while in the hallway and he stays entertained for most of my shower.

My daughter eats her breakfast. Our bathroom is tiny, I put her right in front of the door, and I only close the door enough so I can see her through the crack.

normally, I put her in her crib (next door to bathroom) w/a book or two and she will "read" to herself while I take a quick shower (~ 10 min max)

I had to switch my showers to night, once he's in bed. I have to much work to recently during his naps, and just letting him play or snack doesn't work with him, he's too much of a clingy nut.

When DH showers, I am in bed. She plays in the bathroom while he showers (we have removed anything dangerous from under the cupboards).

When I shower, she takes a shower with me. She loves it. She doesn't get baths anymore, just showers. She brings some toys in with her and has a ball.

Several months ago I switched to showering at night, after he went to bed. It just became too difficult to do in the morning. I get up before him in the morning to fix my hair, make-up, etc. to get ready for work.

She is either in the shower with me, or playing with some toys and books in her crib. Or sometimes if I have to be somewhere early in the morning, I just get up before she wakes up and take one.

During the week he is usually sleeping since I get up early for work, but on the days I am home and he is awake I will either put toys in the bathroom with us and he will play on the floor while a shower or I just leave the bathroom door open while he is playing in the living room but we only have one floor to our house so I am not worried about stairs.
