post iui progesterone test

I went in this morning to get some blood drawn to test my progesterone.  I had heard from several ladies on here that their doctors wanted to see progesterone at 15 after medicated cycles...well my dr must be psycho, because he wants it at 20...

I'm nervous and won't find out til after 1.

    15 is usually the norm, but every RE is different, so 20 might be his number :)

    Does anyone know why they do this test? I have mine tomorrow morning and I don't know for the life of me what it indicates. I know stupid Q, but seems like something I should know

    Pretty sure it verifies you ovulated.  And if it's low, they'll supplement you during your 2ww.  Some supplement you anyways-even if it ends up being normal.

    My RE told me the test is to make sure the lining of your uterus is thick enough to allow the embryo to implant and hold on.

    My test is next Tuesday. Question - do they tell you right there whether you need progesterone supplements? How does that work?

    I had my blood drawn this am and then I'm to call back this afternoon to get the results.  It's at that point that they will tell me if I need to be taking anything (progesterone suppositories etc)

    I have mine on Friday morning.  I'm curious as to what the level will be since I'm on estrace and prometrium suppositories and I've never had levels checked during my LP.

    I have to warn you girls though about the progesterone.  Hopefully you won't have many side effects if you end up on them, but I have been constant headaches, nausea, dizziness and fatigue.  My RE didn't tell me about the SE so i wasn't really prepared for them.

    My RE said it's to make sure you ovulated. A higher progesterone level means a strong O according to my RE. They like to see anything over 15 for a medicated cycle. I didn't get my results until the following morning though.

    Anyone familiar with the numbers for a non-medicated cycle? The nurse mentioned 10. Does that sound right?
