1st Trimester

Zofran

My doctor just called me in a script for Zofran.  Has anyone taken this in their first trimester?  How did it work for you?

Re: Zofran

  • I am taking 4 mg 3x a day.  Usually every 6-8 hours.  I can take 1-2 at a time if I want to, but I choose to do one.  It helps take the edge off.  I usually just get sick once a day now, in the morning right after I shower.  I wait to take Zofran until after that happens so I don't just throw it up.  I think it helps some with the nausea and I've been able to keep down more food lately, even though I've lost another pound (11 lbs total now).  I hope it works for you!

  • I've taken 8 mg twice a day since week 7 and it has been my savior! Some nausea still lingers on some days but not as bad as it used to be.  I'm able to drink/eat

  • I took it during my first pregnancy and don't remember it working that well, but I'm trying it again this time.  My doctor warned me that it can cause constipation so make sure to eat plenty of fiber.

  • I've been taking it for a week and I love it.  It takes the edge off and I'm able to function.  Still get a little bit of nausea but it's not bad at all, nothing like before.

(But it does cause some serious constipation though!)

  • I take it about once a day or every other day as needed. Seems to work really well
  • I've been taking Zofran and its a god send! Sometimes if I'm realllllly nauseous it doesn't get rid of it 100% but takes a lot of the edge off. Most times it gets rid of the nausea completely though. I don't think I would have survived this long with out it! Hope it works well for you!

  • I started it a week and a half ago and it gave me constipation and trapped gas pain that was 10 times more miserable than nausea. I still have it and take it when the nausea is unbearable, but I'm trying to eat much more fiber.

ditto this. It only seems to take the edge off for me. I have a feeling I'd be a lot worse if I wasn't taking it though!!
