sick toddler=no sleep for mommy or the toddler

chloe is still so congested that she coughed all night. plus was up off and on all night because she couldnt breathe. i think her and i managed to get a total of 4 hours sleep last night.
Thing 1 = April 2008, 38weeks 8lbs 7oz 19in
Thing 2 = May 2009, Stillborn 33weeks 4lbs 9oz 18in
Thing 3 = October 2010, 27weeks 4days 2lbs 4oz 14.25in

    Oh, boo that sucks.  I hate sick nights.

    Do you have a humidifier for her?  Our pedi also suggested letting them sit in a warm, steamy bathroom for 10-15 minutes, and then take them out into the cold (or stick their head in the freezer) immediately afterward.  I'm not sure exactly what that does, but it helps clear them out for a while.  We do it a couple of times before bed time and they seem to sleep better afterward if they're congested.

    (Sorry I know you didn't ask for advice.)

    here is what i have been doing...

    cool mist humidifier
    little noses saline drops (dont help for crap)
    Childrens Dimetapp DM, 0.8 three times a day
    0.8 infants motrin when she is running a fever

    that is what the on call doctor told me to do, and if she didnt start feeling better in 2-3days to call her doctor and have her seen. So i called today and she has an appointment at 10am tomorrow!

    oh and i dont mind getting advice, it helps to get a "fresh pair of eyes" sometimes!
