I have my prescription for Provera to start and then were going to do Clomid after that..however, we have a trip planned (with DH's cousin) for Dec. 19-24th. When do you take clomid and how long after that do you usually get a + OPK? It's a ski trip, and the cousins went cheap on the rooms..might make it a little difficult to make all the timing right...I guess my question is, when should i start the provera to make the timing come out right...
Re: ladies who have taken clomid..answers please!
I personally would not take Clomid if I was not being properly monitored throughout the cycle. There are too many risks and side-effects.
However it has been done by many many women, and most of them have been fine, and I know that's not what you're asking so...
I took it days 5-9 and usually O'ed somewhere around day 13-15.
You should really follow your Dr's advise as far as taking the meds. This is how I did it
Took Provera for 10 days
exacly 7 days after my Provera ended AF started
I had a baseline scan done yesterday and started Clomid and Metformin last night.
As for O'ing I dont chart so I cant tell you.
Your doctor didn't explain when/how to take it?
I agree with leslie.
what leslie said
and I will add my own - you should be monitored. With b/w and u/s's. Your doc will then be able to tell you when your follies (if you have any) are mature. Also the thickness of your lining.
My clomid cycle was a bust because I got the "Thin lining" side effect. It was not thick enough for implantation - so even if an egg fertilized, it wouldn't stick.

Just to add...
My first cycle on Clomid (100mg) I had 2 cysts on my right ovary that didn't go away, even after getting AF. I had to go on bcp to shrink them. If I hadn't been monitored I would have thought everything was fine, started taking Clomid again on day 5, and would have had major major issues when those cysts that didn't go away got even bigger from the new dose of Clomid. You can lose an ovary if a cyst gets out of hand and takes over.
My BFP cycle (which was Clomid AND injectables, but still) I had a raging case of OHSS. I ended up in the ER because I thought my ovary was going to explode. It was bad.
Thanks Leslie..and other ladies...definately good information. I'll be waiting until the trip to do Provera so we can start Clomid when we'll be in town and be able to be watched...
this confuses me. You mean so your doctor can follow you closely with u/s's and bloodwork, right? If not, why would you follow your doc?
