OK...I know this is going to be a little silly.
We are trying to determine who to use as a pediatrician. There is a huge group in town and then several smaller groups. I had pretty much decided on using one of the smaller practices. The doctor comes VERY highly recommended by friends and co-workers...but apparently they have no on-call staff after hours.
So here is the silly part.
I had decided against the large group because my ex is one of the pediatricians. We dated for 4 years and it was a messy break. I have NO problem with the rest of the doctors there...but if we decided to go with that group, is it unreasonable of me to ask the staff that we never see that doctor? It would be SO uncomfortable and if I have a sick baby, that's the last thing I want to deal with. But I would hate to be THAT patient.
Thanks, ladies.
Re: Silly, silly peds question
I don't think it's silly at all. You never have to tell them the actual reason you do not wish to see him, and people do that all the time. The only potential predicament I see is if he is the on call and you need to go in after-hours. We lucked up and J's regular pedi was the one on call the night we took him.
there is nothing wrong with that. It's like going to the same OB and they ask you which doctor.
I think you'd get better coverage at a large practice.
Heather may have more input on this.
I think you can tell them you don't want to ever have this doctor and if he's on call and you need him, go to a walk in.
I am so curious to know who you dated...ha! We always request the same ped each time we go and when he's sick, we usually can see this ped or at least one that I like.
I will say that I have heard really, really great things about Dr. Greer as a ped. He's actually my GP but I haven't moved DS over there since I started seeing him. In the last couple of weeks though, I have heard that you can call his cell phone after hours and he calls right back. Dr. Greer is on N. Dean Road in front of that retirement home.
doesn't he go to our church? I think I've heard of him, but of course I pass his office ALL the time!!!
so true.
Ditto both of these!
