People should NOT wear these out in public

I saw a woman wearing these in line at Target today.

I'm sorry, your froggy feet creep the hell out of me.

  • I'd die if I saw someone wearing these.  Maybe to run in, but not to go shopping in!

  • LOL....that is hilarious!!!
  • WTF that is hilarious. I really did laugh at that one.

Oh and in the interest of full disclosure, I'm pretty sure I wore toe socks with flip flops a few times as a teenager. lol

  • Eh, my SIL has them and wears them in public a lot.  They're very comfortable, and are actually better for your feet.  Not the cutest shoes ever, but there have been worse.  Jelly shoes, anyone?  At least with these your feet might not smell like hot wet death after wearing them all day.

They don't look safe to run in, they look like they provide no support at all- what is the thinking behind them?

they are actually better for your feet.  it's supposed to improve your agility and strengthen the feet and ankles.  there's also some studies that suggest barefootedness (that's my made up word for it) improves body awareness and  balance.

Look at the footwear professional marathon runners wear - they wear very flat, very thin-soled shoes that give no support either, and yet these people smoke everyone else in the field.  PP is right all the way around - studies have shown that conventional running shoes actually contribute more to running injuries because the body doesn't NEED all that extra crap to run.  These are rapidly becoming very popular with runners because they are reducing injuries and are great running shoes.

  • I think those are cool and look super comfy!  Not sure where I'd wear them though??  Probably not out shopping.

    Call me weird.

I always wear toe socks & my Crocs sandals.

  • If we've adjusted to seeing people wearing Crocs all year, we'll eventually get used to seeing these.
