I can't believe I never posted this gem:
So, a few months ago my husband and I were staying with a friend and her husband for a few days. At this point we were on month 3 of ttc. We haven't told anyone btw that we are ttc, we decided it would be our special secret.
My friend who I hadn't seen in ages and her husband inform us "we have great news we have just started trying for a baby"..of course we say nothing.
THEN the next morning my husband comes up to me and says "you are not going to believe this, your friend just shook a positive pregnancy test in my face" ....yep, this is all for real.
Of course, weirdest situation ever compounded with obviously, my hopes and wishes not having had come true yet!!!
This make me laugh now. I just imagine now when I do get KU and i tell her how long it had took, she'll have FOOTINTHEMOUTHNESS!
Foot in the mouthness keeps ensuing with "oh, you'll understand some day" etc.
Re: a case of foot-in-the-mouth-ness
Yea, I didn't know what to make of this, but I got the following:
Your friend, who didn't know you are TTC, was excited to share her news. And you can't wait to look back and make her feel bad for sharing their news b/c you were trying too, only she didn't know it?
Yup this!
whoah there. i guess i could clarify by thinking that the scenerio is comical.
getting a phone call about the good news would be pretty standard looking at pregnancy stick is comical and rather uncomfortable!!!
I wouldn't want anyone to feel bad over nothing to feel bad about. I just can't wait to tell her what was going on when she was assuming i didn't care about babies!
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

I don't take one single minute for granted.
Well, foot in the mouth is usually a bad thing. That's when you feel bad about saying something and put your foot in your mouth.
it means saying something without thinking.

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." --Thomas A. Edison
hahaha.... it was my husband who got the pee stick. i never seen him so embarassed.
this is true, to be honest I never imagine telling anyone how long TTC took etc unless I ever encounter some serious complications. and then probably just my parents. At the moment I'm just chugging along! My thought is when it happens its going to be the most glorious thing, how it happened is going to become obsolete. It only means so much now because i'm the middle of it!@!@
I'll hand it to you that showing the pee stick is a little weird.
I still don't agree that the OP is looking forward to the girl feeling uncomfortable about sharing it. She doesn't know they were trying and may have been more respectful if she had.
Who knows. My best friend from HS told me she "hated" being pg three weeks after I miscarried, sometimes people just don't think.
BTW what about Weds? Are you thinking yay or nay?
Oh, I'm all about yay if you are. It seems to work all around. We'll celebrate my last day!
Edit - don't know why it qouted weird.
Sure! Did you email back to her yet, or should I? I can't remember where the email chain left off.
It's cool i'm just going to show her her a picture of my vagina and we'll be even.
In all seriousness though... my friend will not feel bad about anything and I don't feel wronged in anyway! Hopefully we'll be both be able to talk about it soon as it's difficult not getting to let it out of the bag!!
HAPPY HOUR=YES!! Just tell me where!
this
LOL. Indy Lizard? From Avon I can probably get there by 5:45 or so.
Gross!
I hope it all works out for you both.
Yeah..on second thought ...leaving vag out of our friendship might be the best thing for us. just grossed myself out there.
A coworker once brought a +HPT into work and showed it to me and I was pretty shocked; totally happy for her, just shocked that she brought a pee stick into work.
