Car Seat Check FYI

We installed our car seat bases this weekend thinking it wouldn't be a problem to have them inspected.  DH just called and said they didn't have an opening until the 19th and I will probably be induced next week.  I'm not too concerned since we only live a few minutes from the hospital and we don't plan on taking him out anyway.  It was just surprising.  I wanted to make sure you ladies knew to have your car seats checked early.

    Hoover Fire Dept by the rec center will check without an appointment.  I just called beforehand to make sure someone was there.

    Just wanted you to know that Birmingham's fire dept does not do car seat installations or inspections, but most of the surrounding jurisdictions do. I know for sure Trussville, Centerpoint, Hoover, and Homewood.  I think Bessemer as well.  There are others but I just can't remember right now.

    We went to the Trussville fire dept and they saw us immediately.  There is no appointments.
    Allie ~ 01/26/09 ~ 7 lbs, 9 oz ~ 20.75 in. & Amelia ~ 03/16/11 ~ 8 lbs, 1 oz ~ 21 in.

    LOL!  DH is a firefighter in Birmingham and he has no idea.  I decided that it's because they are the largest department in the county and are the busiest.  DH's station is in Wenonah and he did say that he has no idea when anyone would find the time to do it because they are always busy and always short staffed.
