Hi ladies,
I posted this on the IF board, and am hoping to hear from others who may have had a similar experience.
I posted yesterday about my baseline u/s for IVF not going so well. My right ovary was completely hidden, and my dr. looked for a good while trying to find it. He said it could have been hiding behind my bowel. I've done 6 iui's and had a gazillion u/s before and never had this happen. I'm terrified that my geriatric ovaries are shriveling up. I was feeling so good about finally moving to IVF, and was really optimistic about this cycle. Now, I'm worried that I'll go in next Monday for my first monitoring appt and he still won't be able to find it.
Has anyone ever had an ovary hide during an u/s? Did it reappear the next time? Did your dr. say what caused it? I know I'm probably being paranoid, but it's just never happened to me before. Thanks for listening
Re: XP: Anyone have hidden ovary during u/s?
I always had different doctors doing the u/s at my first RE and one of them had the hardest time finding one of my ovary, which was weird. It took her hours where everyone else was in and out in a minute.
Thne I switched clinics and they had u/s techs doing them. Well I had gas one day during the u/s and the tech could not find my ovary... She knew I had gas - had my push on various areas, sit up, walk around and BINGO - after a little bit up popped the ovary!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.
