Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Nothings Wrong?!?!?

REALLY!!! I had the tissue from my d&c came back with no abnormalities (bo so no fetus) and got some blood tests done and they came back normal.  NORMAL?!?!  I have had 2 m/c and no babies in three months and that's normal?  Dr. says it's like rolling a 6 two times in a row on a dice.  I want to roll an f-ing 1 on the dice if it means a sticky baby.  DH and I will probably still ttc after af but still.

What tests can I have done when I am not prego that can see if there is something wrong?  Can you test for progesterone lvls?  I have no idea.  I don't know who else to ask other than you ladies cause I have no sis's and my mom is passed.  I don't feel comfy talking to sil or mil about this.  You ladies have any advice on this that I can talk to my doc about.

  • Same thing here with my 1st 2 mc's which were both BO's. Then I had a pregnancy with what was thought to be a healthy baby until I mc at 12 1/2 weeks while on vacation at Disney and the baby was tested and had triploidy (2 sperm fertilized one egg at the same time and gave my baby an extra set of chromosomes). I had all the testing and NOTHING was found here either. My 1st pregnancy was my daughter who is 3 and then 3 mc's. You can also have chromosomal testing done on you and dh (we did and that was normal too). Progesterone isn't even worth testing (OB will tell you that) because when you are pregnant your numbers will change drastically either for the good or bad so testing it now doesn't matter. My OB said that "science does not know everything and that is why we do research on a daily basis so even though nothing was found and they tested for everything they could in the future they would have prob found something wrong with me". He said just keep on trying. GL

  • I'm pretty sure they can test your progesterone levels, and they can put you on a supplement if that is necessary.  Hopefully someone else who is farther along in this process than I am can give you some more answers.

    Like PP said, we're here for you.  {{hugs}}
  • I just started my tests yesterday.  The doctor said that he doesn't believe they will find anything wrong because I have had a successful pregnancy.  Four m/c later, however, I believe that DS was the exception, not the rule.

    They took 8 vials of blood to testing for several different clotting disorders, which my OB said is the most likely cause, if there is one, for recurrent m/c.

    Generally, at your age, they will not start testing until after three m/c.  Believe me.  I know.  I had my first m/c at 22, and I've had three m/c since April and I'm 26.  I demanded to be tested this time.  After my third, I was told that no one would take me seriously because I was too young.  I immediately switched doctors, lol.

  • I hope they can give you answers, but I would also find some hope in the fact that maybe you were just purely unlucky twice.  It's painful not to know why.
