emiliemadison!!

I have a question for you. I was just reading another post that you commented on where you said "call a seat tech". I was just curious about this. I had no idea there were seat techs and I would love to have one look over my car seat and make sure it is properly installed.

We installed it per the instructions but it still seems kinda "loose". It is an Eddie Bauer that is rear facing in a Passat. Sorry for all the added info, but I get the impression that you know a lot about car seats!

Re: emiliemadison!!

  • I have a super lame hobby- car seats LOL!! You can have a certified car seat technician install and/or check your seat. Try looking up your zip code at https://seatcheck.org/. or at https://www.nhtsa.gov/cps/cpsfitting/index.cfm. If the seat seems loose, it is. You shouldnt be able to move it more than an inch (and that's even too much IMO) at the belt path. One good trick when installing seats is to get it set up and then actually get in and kneel in the seat as you tighten it. But I do strongly suggest you get it inspected anyway. Make sure to ask if the person has a current CPS certification.

PM me if you'd like more info because I hardly ever see pages (search sucks! LOL).
