Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Stocking stuffer ideas for toddler?

DS is getting my old fisher price people stuff from when I was a kid from Santa this year (I saved them for my whole life to pass them on) - minus the actual people until he won't choke on them.  Anyway, I would like to get him some stocking stuffers since I am not actually purchasing anything and I have no idea what would be good.  I got a couple of board books.  Anyone find any cute stocking stuffers?

  • Books, a play cell phone, snacks, an ornament, and crayons.

  • So far I have wooden blocks, finger puppets, and a cookie cutter set to go with his kitchen.

  • Dollar section at Target has great stocking stuffers.  Little wooden trains, play food...all sorts of "stocking sized" items that you can pick through...
  • 2 board books and some disney princesses are going into DD's stocking. I got the entire princess set at the disney store for $12. Each princess is one solid piece, soft plastic & can double as a bath toy! They also had sets like this w/ buzz lightyear, finding nemo and the basic disney figures like mickey, donald, goofy, ect. Each set has 8 "toys" in it.

  • There are some cute idea in the One Step ahead catalog and I am going to check out the dollar bins at Target. But for the most part we are going to be wrapping up the Noahs animals ( in their sets) from my G-pa. We have 6 animal pairs so that should fill his stocking.

Oh, we have the disney figures and use them as bath toys!  They are fun- we have the winnie the pooh set and the original characters- mickey etc.

I was wondering about playdoh and crayons...I am afraid DS will eat them but I am assuming a little playdoh/ crayon snack never really hurt anyone- as long as he doesn't choke??

  • How old is your DS? At 17 months, mine is just growing out of that "everything in the mouth" stage (I can relax some finally!). We have the big crayons - the ones with the plastic animals at the bottom. I forget the name, Crayola makes them.
