Something I don't get about Twilight...

That post last night got me thinking... one of the girls said she's team jacob, and I see all these kids in my school that are team one or the other.  I know I only read the first of the 4 books and I haven't seen the movie yet... BUT I really don't ge the team thing.

I assume most of these people are fans of the series and have read all the books... don't they know who bella end's up with? (Don't tell me.)

Or are they voting for teams bases only on the hotness of those young boys?

    As you get further along in the books you'll start to understand the whole "team" thing Zip it!

    Ditto Sky. The team thing really comes out in the second book and continues through till the 4th.

    For the record. I'm team Jacob. *wink* and had nothing to do with the characters because I read them before I knew who was playing them in the movies.

    I'm totally with you on the crazy Edward idea.  If he were a real person I believe restraining orders would be taken out against him!  But, I think he's pretty.

    See, when I read the books I was Team Edward all the way, they're told from Bella's perspective so everything he does is played down. But once I saw the movies and realized how freaking creepy he was... Team Jacob. Definitely.

    I'm team Jacob.  That's who I think is better for Bella.  Plus I think he's cuter in the movies than Edward is!

    I think as far as Edward the crazy stalker type - if he were human I would agree that he is overbearing and ridiculous. But in the context of the story as a whole - I totally get it.

    I agree about the context making the over-protectiveness okay. I'm definitely Team Edward. Jacob and Bella would have been fine together, but Edward and Bella had the true love aspect going.

    Have you read the 5th book that's only available online?  It makes Edward seem REALLY creepy.  Here's the link.

    From the books, I'm team Edward.

    But the movies - I'm team Jacob. They didn't develop Bella and Edward's relationship at all in Twilight, and they did develop Bella and Jacob's relationship in New Moon, so just watching the movies you can't understand why she would want to be with Edward instead.

    Yes.  And actually, it only reinforces my feeling that given the context his obsession is completely justifiable.
