Another sling/carrier question...

I have been carrying my 17 pound, 4 month old baby in a ring sling since I figured out how to use it.  I absolutely love the simplicity of it and have had no complaints at all.  However, seeing the sling/wrap/carrier posts that are on here all the time makes me wonder if there is a better way.  Is there some point (weight wise, especially) that a different carrier would be better, or is a ring sling versitile enough that I can just keep using it as she grows?

FWIW, I mostly use my sling for quick errands-like into the post office or pet food store and for grocery shopping, etc.  I want something quick and easy since we sometimes spend half the day going in and out of stores and the car.  However, I am also doing three days of air travel over the holidays without DH and am trying to figure out the simplest way to get around...

    I'm pretty new to BWing, but I like my ring sling for quick up and down or errands with DS (almost 10 months).  I just got a Connecta which is great for when I need him to be in front or back of me, and he is more stable in it.  I have a few wraps but I'm still learning so they don't count.  I would invest in some sort of Mei Tai or something for your air travel so you can strap your little one on your back or front and be completely hands free for luggage and things.

    Sounds like the ring sling is perfect for your needs - easy for frequent in and out. Lots of mommas with toddlers use them for just that reason. I would consider another carrier if you ever wear your baby for long periods (the asymmetry of a ring sling can bother your back/neck). Or if you do more active stuff like hiking. Or if dad wants to wear baby :) Or just because it is an addiction :)

    I did it! I finally found a wrap that I think I'm going to like...It should be here in about a week. I hope I can get good at it before my trip...I hope I love it, but not so much that I develop a full-blown baby wrap/baby wearing addiction...
