Ute size/3rd pregnancy question

I'm on my 3rd pregnancy, (my last one was 15 years ago, so I don't really remember a whole lot.)  I'm almost 11 weeks now and sometimes after I eat I feel like stomach, lungs and other stuff is squished like I was further along in my pregnancy, so I was wondering if when you are on 2nd or 3rd pregnancy, does your uterus grow to full size right away or is it still what the book says and not above your pelvic bone until 12 weeks?

Re: Ute size/3rd pregnancy question

  • I do hear it grows quicker, but today at my appointment she felt my ute and said it felt about 8 weeks.

  • My uterus is enormous.  The u/s tech who looked at me a few weeks ago said something like, "Whoa, your uterus is huge.  It's like an olympic swimming pool for your baby."  My doctor said the baby sort of dictates the growth in the first and then the body just knows how big it needs to be and grows that big right away.  It'll get bigger, for sure but it's waaaayyy bigger than in my first at this point.  I'm just over 11 weeks and I feel the same as you described.
  • Much quicker!  Mine blew up right away and by 7w I was showing big time.  Now, at 14w, I look like I did at almost 28w with DS.

My doc said one reason is b/c your uterus has already been stretched so it goes right back.  Another reason (for me) is b/c my DS was 9.5lbs born 2 weeks early... so mine was really stretched, lol.

  • I am on #3. They are all two years apart. I am about 13 weeks. I look like I am 20 weeks according to the photos of my previous pregnancies. I don't actually know that my uterus is any bigger but that I look "more pregnant".
