leaky dipes

so we just started using cloth diapers with our baby girl- she's 8 days old and weighs probably about 7.5 lbs. we are using the greenmountain prefolds and also the indian prefolds from jillian's drawers, with thirsties covers. i'm noticing they are leaking everytime she pees... is this normal? is she too small to start using these? are we just not putting them on right?

just curious what you ladies think...

    Are the diapers completely soaked?  How many times did you wash them prior to use?

    no, they're just wet in one area... i washed them about 4 times before use.

    Hmmm....Are you using a snappi or tri-folding?  Are you making sure that the entire PF is covered up by the cover?  Are there gaps where the legs are, like the leg gussets aren't tight enough around her legs?  If you're using XS thirsties this shouldn't be the case though...

    If you just put water on the PF does it absorb right away or does the water bead up and roll off?
