Baby Names

POLL: Name my baby girl!

I am due in a little over a week and don't have a name for our baby girl.  HELP!!!

Please let me know what first name you prefer below.  Also, I need a middle name.  My husband is Dutch and it is common in the Netherlands to have 2 middle names.  Our mother's names are Elisabeth and Mary Anne.  We would like to honor them by using one name combing their two names or have two names (such as Elisabeth Anne).  What do you think?

Also, if we use Evie as a nickname for Genevieve.  How would you pronounce it?  eve-e or ev-e?

 Thanks much for your help!

Re: POLL: Name my baby girl!

  • My vote is Sophia Elizabeth Anne.

    I'd say Eee-vee.

  • I love Genevieve but with two middle names I'm afraid it would be a mouthful! I would pronounce Evie as EE-vee.

With the two middle name twist thrown in, I would go with Sophia Elisabeth Ann.

  • I like Genevieve best, but it's going to be a mouthful with Elisabeth Anne.
  • I like Genevieve, but maybe with Annelise rather than Elisabeth Anne?

I like this suggestion.  Love Genevieve.  And I'd go with Eee-vee for a nickname.

I love Sophia, but don't like how common it is.  Madeline is pretty, too - but again, pretty popular.

    me too!

  • I voted for Genevieve.  Sophia and Madeline are both very pretty, but Genevieve is more unique and I love Evie as a nn.  What about Mary Elizabeth as a mn?  It is long, but she isn't going to use her full name very often.
  • Sophia Anne Elisabeth.

  • My grandmother's names were Elizabeth and Mary - so my parents named me Mary Beth (first name - no middle name).  Of course, I don't know if that really goes with the 3 first names you are choosing from.

I voted for Genevieve as a first name.

  • I know it is a huge mouthful but I vote Genevieve Elizabeth Anne or Genevieve Mary Elizabeth. Genevieve is on the top of our list and absolutely LOVE the name.  Love Elizabeth too!

As for nn, Evie to me is pronounced Ee-vee.

  • How about Mary Beth for the mn?

  • Sophia and Madeleine! Both are so common, though... I LOVE them anyway. Congrats! You will make the right decision!
