Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Pedi only wants to see LO at 8 weeks, am I the only one?

We saw the pedi at 1 week and then they don't want to see her til 8 weeks, it seems like a lot of you see them at 1 month, am I the only one who doesn't see them at 1 month?

  • Our practice does an appt during the first week, 2nd week and then again at 1 month... 2 months feels a little long to me too - can you just make an appointment if that's what feels more comfortable to you?

  • We went at 1 week, 1 month and 2 months.  Go again at 3 months.
  • Mine wanted to see him every week till he was a month old, then monthly from there.
  • Our pedi saw ds 2 days after we came home, then at one week, then (unless they are still not back to birth weight) 2 months.

  • We went at 2 weeks and the pedi said he doesn't need to see him again until 2 months.
  • We did three days, one and a half weeks, then the next will be six weeks. We have a family Dr and he just likes to see the babies and moms at the same time. He also said he prefers to see babies before two months but not quite at one month. It really all depends on the Dr.
  • Ours is 2wks, 2 months, 4 months & 6 months for a healthy baby.  We have our 2 month appt this friday.  I'm nervous about all of the vaccines!

  • We went at 1 week and then 2 months. Pedi told us to bring her in if anything came up but otherwise, 2 months.
  • You're the customer. If you feel more comfortable going in at 1month, tell them you want to schedule an appt. for a "weight check". It's not like they'll say "No, you can't come in." :)

  • We did a 1 week, then came in a few times for weight checks, then had a 1-month. Honestly, I'd be a little concerned not having LO's weight checked during all that time, just to make sure everything is on track.

  • We had an apt at 5 days due to jaundice, have another scheduled for 2 wks, another for 1 month and then another at 2 months.

They were all scheduled at once.

  • We did a 5 day old visit, a weight check at 2 weeks (just saw the nurse) and then back at 2 months.  No 1 month appointment.

  • My pedi is on the same schedule - 1 week and then 2 months. I had some nursing issues though and saw an LC which found out DS wasn't gaining weight.  If I hadn't done that it would have been a while before I figured out the issue.  We did have DS in at 3+ weeks though due to some spitting up to eliminate reflux as an issue.  I would just make an "appt" for a weight check at one month.  My office said I could come in any time for that.
