So I had to fly down to New Orleans this weekend for a wedding. I do not get along with DH's parents at all and luckily we never see them or talk to them. They do know about my m/c because my MIL called a few weeks after my m/c to tell me her niece was pregnant and she demanded to know when I was going to get pregnant. That is when I informed her that I was - but lost the baby over a month ago. Other than that - it has been years since she called me.
So fast forward to the wedding. I was nervous b/c DH's family always asks me when I am going to have kids and I didn't want to answer that question. But what I endured was a lot worse..
When I saw my FIL - he said to me "so caryn, how many weeks?". I said "None - you KNOW I lost the baby". I then walked away and burst into tears.
One of DH's uncles said to me that 'it was most likely a girl that I lost since my DH's family only has boys in the family". Umm...ok - thanks
And another uncle told me that "I need to try harder next time" and to "be more careful"
Notice it was all men who made comments to me? Needless to say - I drowned my sorrow in many many glasses of wine!
So I am happy to be back here - with you ladies!

May they all get flaming infections in their man-bits. I am so, so sorry!
I hope your DH was the milkman's baby, b/c seriously his side of the family makes me question their mental status

I'm so sorry.
First, how awful.
Second, I would have DH kick MIL's rear end, I can't believe she spread your private information like that. I would KILL my MIL.

blah blah!! wtf!! no one asked you!! I TOTALLY feel your frustration! Im so sorry you had to deal with that!
Wow! That is awful. I hope the next family wedding isn't for a really long time...like maybe never. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.
