Good morning fellow Nesties. DH and I have been trying for well over two years to get pregnant. I have between stage 3 & 4 Endo. I had a lap done a year ago where they drained a cyst and removed as much endo as they could. My fertility specialist seems to believe that my probelm is scarring in my tubese and my endo attacking my the sperm when traveling through my tubes. DH's stuff is awesome.
We have been told we have a 1.2% shot of getting pregnant on our own. We have decided to do IVF in Jan. I just want to make sure I am not missing out on doing anything that I could have done that would have been cheaper....IVF is expensive as we all know.
So I have:
Been on Femara for two months
Been on Clomid for three months
Have done Clomid with IUI's (3 times)
Have done injectables with double IUI's (3 times)
What else is there? I know I am crazy, but I want to beat that 1.2% chance and tell them to shove it!
THANKS
Re: Let's discuss steps before IVF
I am sorry but this is HORRIBLE advice. Yes congrats you have a break cycle miracle, but that happens to about 2% of the infertility public.
To original poster - have you had any procedure to help clear the scarring of your tubes? If it is severe they may not consider doing it, but it is worth asking about. And of course, do not give up on trying for the break cycle miracle, everyone hopes for that but do not bank on it working.
I am sorry the doctor gave you IVF as the only option at this point. It is hard to hear, but I can assure after doing 3 of them it is not as bad as you think going in to it. Yes, it is expensive and yes I wish I could have done it without the need for it. But I am so happy that it did work for me and in the end I am glad I did not waste time and money on precedures that were not working for me.
Please join us over on the Infertility board. Many people are there with Endo of all stages and have eitehr made the decisions uyou are about to make or are going through IVF now!
Good luck!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Forgive me for trying to shed some hope. I'm not new to this journey and was told the SAME thing as the OP for the SAME reasons. I have stage 3-4 endo with multiple endometriomas removed, at least one ovary completely fixed to the pelvic wall with each surgery, and many, many adhesions and scarring. Hell yes, it sucks to hear IVF is your only option, but it DOES still happen for some people. I also come from a place of "knowing" it doesn't always work that way. Maybe I should have said more than I did, but d@mn, when you were in the exact shoes of someone else, and had a positive outcome, why not share that? I didn't mean for the OP to think it will happen without intervention, but merely to reflect on the possiblity it could. Didn't realize I stumbled on snarky & tttc.
