For some reason, people think that my new name is Mom or Mama. I am so sick of people calling me this! I am not your mother! I guess it could be worse, they could be calling me Mommy.

I HATE this too and it is good to hear I am not weird for hating it. This co-worker named Vicky says "Hey little mama..." in a deep man voice everytime she walks by my desk. I think she is trying to sound like Elvis or something. So I asked her why she is speaking in a man voice, what is wrong with your voice, etc. And now I call her Victor.

I live in Central Texas and since the mama thing seems to be a very traditional hispanic term for expecting women, I get it all the time! However, I don't let it bug me, I see it as one of the things that come with pregnancy. I've been trying my best to enjoy every aspect of this pregnancy, even the ones that might be slightly annoying.

I've been "mama" for almost 4 years now so on the rare occassion someone not my child calls me that it doesn't bother me too much.
