Trying to Get Pregnant

I know what you all are going to say but im asking any way-TMI

So after 10 days of Provera, AF showed up Friday- Since yesterday I have had a heavy flow with clots ( clots are normal for me). Im having to change tampons every 45 mins to an hour, should I call the Dr?

  • Yep, soaking a super pad or tampon in an hour or less is cause to call the doc.

  • I'm a nurse and we tell patients to call a doctor if you have to change your pad or tampon every hour. Call now!

I tend to agree - if it seems really excessive (which it sounds like it is), you might want to call, just to make sure everything's okay.  Better safe than sorry.

  • Same thing has happened to me a few times, minus the Provera. I even went to the ER once. Anyway, this is what will most likely happen. They will make you take a PG test, examine your hoo-ha, and test you for anemia. When all that comes back fine, they send you home with a huge bill. Basically, they see it as no big deal unless you are bleeding to death. Not fun.

  • Hey Ladies! Thanks for all the well wishes. I called the Dr last night and the nurse asked the normal questions and asked if it has happened before, which it has. I told her the last time it happened I went in they checked me said i was fine and sent me home. She talk to their on call Dr and he said that since i was doing fine, not drooling or unable to walk, talk etc etc then to see how it goes in the next few hours and if it didn't lighten up then to call back. So we went to dinner last night and by last night at around midnight it had lightened up. This morning it was back to a tad heavy but as of now its much better! Good thing too because I have my scan in like 3 hours!
