how long did you bed-share...

and was it your choice or your LOs to move into their own bed?  i'm not  thinking about transitioning him...  i'm holding on tight for as long as i can b/c one day he may not want me anymore :p

Re: how long did you bed-share...

  • Wish I could answer this for you, but I am still sharing and have no plans to stop anytime soon. Lo is going on 5 months. I know that many moms on here co-sleep for a long time, personally I would go with it as long as you feel like it and both you and LO are sleeping well. GL

  • We part time bed-share. I'd say its more her choice but will never complain :) But she is still in our bedroom...now that is more of my choice because like you said; one day she wont want to anymore and that makes me a bit sad when I think about it.

  • We bedshare for an extended amount of time.  Kate is 20 months and still in our bed.  I also don't see her moving out anytime soon.  When she does it will be to a toddler bed in our room until she is ready to go into her own room.

  • Rebecca will be 4 months next week.

We were all for bed sharing but at 2 months she wanted the crib.  She sleeps in the crib, right beside my bed until 5 am, then she can usually be persuaded to join me.  Tear.  She doesn't need to cuddle 24 hours a day anymore.   Now we're thinking she might want out of our room, but I just can't do it.  I was willing to let her stay for at least a year.

ETA She did sleep with us one night last week , she's teething.

  • My twins are 2 1/2 years-old. I am sure at some point it will end.
  • 6 months. i moved her to her crib once she was able to crawl off the bed.

  • Still going at 11 months.
  • DD will be 2 at the end of December and we still bed share, part time.  She has a toddler bed in her room.  Before bed we ask her if she wants to sleep in her room or sleep with Mommy & Daddy.  Most of the time she chooses her room.  I still lay down with her every night when she falls asleep, though ... even if she's sleeping in her room.
