Trying to Get Pregnant

1 year?

It can take a normal, healthy couple one year to conceive...

Is THAT couple charting, using OPKs, and monitoring CM? OR- is that couple just having fun.

I have always wondered that.

Re: 1 year?

  • Hmm good question. I think it all depends on the person, unfortunately... there are women on here that have been doing everything under the sun and havent gotton PG

  • I think the general rule was based on a couple that isn't preventing, but honestly I wouldn't see a specialist unless you've put forth your best effort by yourselves first.

14 months doing all of that here.  ::sigh::

    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
    Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • I believe that is having sex twice a week but not using any "advanced" timing techniques.

  • This couple charted, used Opk's, monitored cm, and it still took us a whole year. It's true.

  • If you chart, use OPKs, monitor CM, CP, etc it could definitely take you a year.

If you just relax, it only takes a month or two.

(I'm kidding. And it's a good question, OP, I've wondered that too.)

  • interesting thought.

sometimes when i've told close friends that we're trying i often tell them that i'm charting/opk's, etc - not just 'winging it'.  i guess i'm just looking for more sympathy at this point.  lol.
