If you are just joining, please introduce yourself.

I created a group calendar for us to add all of our appts, due dates and any fun events we want to share with one another (birthdays, anniversaries, etc).  All you need to do is click the add/edit button at the bottom and select the date/time of your event, make sure you include your bump screenname, what the event is and then make your background a different color to separate appts on the same day.

Here is the calendar:

GOOD LUCK TO THE FOLLOWING LADIES TODAY:

lacikirkman- 30wk appt
Boizmom- 31wk appt
Fuzzy8252- 29wk appt
krystal0707- 1 hr glucose test

T&P LIST:

Breezie17- bedrest since 27wks due to high bp, low amniotic fluid & marginal cord insertion.
Shortyred910- bedrest since 29 wks (admitted in L&D) for pre-term labor

QOTD:  how was your Thanksgiving holiday this past week?  Was it more exciting than past years bc of your expected arrival?

Also, I would like to keep a T&P list for those of us having complications, on bedrest or just being monitored closely for possible concerns.  Can you please give me your info if you are one of those people?  I need to know what the concern/complication is and when bedrest began if applicable.  I like to keep everyone in our T&P and this list should help us keep on top of those having issues.

My Thanksgiving was OK...I spent it with my DH's family which doesn't thrill me bc I am not a fan of my MIL.  Despite me being on bedrest, she made me feel lazy and asked me to help clean the kitchen after T-giving dinner.  By the time I got back on the couch, my hands and feet were so swollen they were burning and I was exhausted.  Believe me, doing nothing for so long makes doing something completely exhausting!  I then had my 3D ultrasound the next day, where the tech had a hard time moving Marlowe to get better pics bc my fluid appeared "really low".  I was bummed to hear that.  But all in all, I am very thankful for my family and my baby girl on the way.  I am so excited to meet her!

Re: February Love Bugs ? Monday Check-in

  • I travelled 500 miles to see my family for Thanksgiving and have my baby shower. They both were good. It's the last time I'll see my family before LO arrives which was weird to think about. Shower was small but good. Since I had to cross the border, most everyone gave me gift cards which are great but not as much fun to open. Drive back yesterday was not.fun. Took 2.5 hrs to cross the border.

T&P for you Breezie and Shorty

  • Thanksgiving is always fun - I don't think I was more excited this year because of LO, but it sure was central to the conversations!  Lots of birth stories and advice (taken with a pinch of salt).

We usually put the tree up this weekend too, but with having to get the nursery done I didn't think we would manage it, but DH worked like a champ, and the nursery is done, the tree is up and decorated.

I'm so excited for Christmas - it's my favorite time of year!

  • Had my Dr appointment this morning.  Everything with baby is looking good, but he's breech right now.  :(  Also, I started having contractions over the weekend.  My Dr isn't overly concerned since I am only having about 3 an hour, but he wants me to keep him informed if I start getting more then 4 to 6 an hour.  I was really sick over the weekend too so he's not sure if that had anything to do with the contractions or not.  (Although I've had them today too and  I am better today.)  Regardless, since I am now 31 weeks, from here on out I go every two weeks.

Thanksgiving was alright.  It was nice spending most of the day with just my husband and my kids and then heading out to my SIL's for dinner.  That night when we got home though is when I started feeling sick.  I barely left the bathroom Friday or Saturday though.  :(  I'm feeling better today though.  I am just grateful that Thanksgiving is over...now we have 3 birthdays, our anniversary and Christmas...then another birthday in January and a literal birthday sometime at the end of January/early February.

  • Thanksgiving was very relaxing! DH and I had it all on our own for the first time and we made a Turkey and everything. It was nice to just be alone. Smile

  • QOTD: I was still getting over my weeklong migraine but I did manage to eat some this week and I made some pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving.

  • I think everyone knows how my T-day went. And thanks for creating a TandP list! It means so much to me!
  • We hosted Thanksgiving as we did last year. Just for immediate fams, so not too many people.

But I wouldn't say that this year was that much different due to our pregnancy. We definately talked about it and whatnot, but I think next year is when it will really feel different.

  • I can't access the calendar at work - boo.  :(  I have my 30 week appointment on Friday - get to see how big the boys are getting.  :)

QOTD:  Thanksgiving was good.  We went to my parents house first and the in-laws afterwards. Nothing too exciting, just lots of eating at my mom's - not the biggest fan of MIL's cooking.  :(

  • Thanksgiving was alright. It was going to be just DH and I but we got 3 last minute invitations when people found out we weren't going to be with family. We joined one of the families we've gotten to know since moving out here and it was nice to relax and be with a family, even if it wasn't our family. It was a little stressful because the family hosting us were all very snappy with each other. Overall, though, it was nice to relax and eat some delicious food.
  • Well this was the first Thanksgiving that DH and I got to spend together which made it very special. We had the big pond between us last year.. I cooked my first Thanksgiving ever and it was so good! I am very proud of myself. However, it was a late dinner because one of our friends had to work and didn't get off until like 830 at night but it was okay. I ate and then went to bed.. I am pretty sure my dessert is still in the freezer. We also found out something awesome.. there are two pregnant women in my house! My yorkie Zoe is pregnant and due by Christmas!!! I am so happy and excited!!
  • QOTD:  how was your Thanksgiving holiday this past week?  Was it more exciting than past years bc of your expected arrival?

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  I love spending it with all of our family & friends.  DH & I have been hosting it for the past three years so it wasn't any different than it usually is, I do all the cooking myself.  Although this year DH did help me by doing all of the clean up while I put my feet up & sat on the couch.  We did all talk about how next year there will be an extra chair (highchair) at the table :)

  • I thought it was going to be a little more exciting because of the baby, although it turned out to be a total mess!

So DH and i said screw his family and we went to the desert with friends instead. so it turned out to be a wonderful trip and stress free! So it was for the better.

FYI (MIL told us to go find something else to do because BIL has a Aweful GF that WE DO NOT LIKE, and she was coming so we needed to leave..... hummmmm.... ok)

But so happy we had no stress!! Big Smile

  • I love the T&P list idea!  Plenty of that going out to you and shorty!

Thanksgiving was okay.  Went to DH's grandparents (who I love) and his parents, sister and her family as well as his aunts and uncles and cousins there.  DH came to my rescue and took his mom and sister aside after they told me how I barely look pregnant - it's not bad, but it really bothers me.  I am just now showing a TINY bit.  SO DH told them to stop it with the comments. Even though they seemed benign it is still hurtful to me.

Growth scan tomorrow.  I am nervous...  Also have to do a pee in a jug for a day later this week.  Fun fun fun.

  • My turkey day was about the same!  It seemed a bit more relaxing this year.  Maybe because it was a day I could just take a break and not worry about anything!

  • My Thanksgiving was great!  I cooked which was exhausting but well worth it.  My family came up for the day and we didn't have the drama from DH's family.  My parents brought us two early Christmas presents an Electric Fireplace and the High Chair we wanted for our LO so we were super excited and very thankful.  All in all it was a great day.  DH and I did a little shopping on Black Friday and then spent the weekend relaxing.  Now we are just anxiously awaiting our 30 appt on Wednesday...we are getting so close to meeting our little man :)  Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving :)

  • T&P to Breezie and Shorty!

Thankgiving was good, but tiring.  It was the first time in about 15 years that my entire family was together so I had a house full of people.  We also celebrated my son's first birthday the day after Thanksgiving, so I had 35 people over for that as well.  Doing it all while 30 weeks pregnant = not fun.

The one nice thing: both of my sisters have little girls, so I got bags and bags of clothes for our little one!  Little girl stuff is so different than little boy stuff.  So frilly!

I hope you all had wonderful holiday weekends!

  • QOTD:  how was your Thanksgiving holiday this past week?  Was it more exciting than past years bc of your expected arrival?

Thanksgiving was good...but small this year.  Just me and DH at his mom and stepfather's house.  His older brother joined us.  Last year it was the 5 of us plus DH's aunt, uncle and cousins.

This is the second thankgiving we've had since moving to OK from CA.  In CA we'd have a much bigger day with all of my many relatives (like 40 people), so that's been an adjustment.  My mom is out here now but came down with Shingles last week so she slept and ate soup on Tday at home.  Poor thing.

IL's are super excited about the baby and my MIL gave us some cute clothes and wanted to feel the baby kick.  I didn't mind her touching my belly (at least she asked first) but Libby was obviously sleepy from all the turkey!

With GD (I was diagnosed on Nov. 14 and put on insulin on Nov. 25) eating was interesting...I stuck to the green veggies and turkey and had just a little mashed potatos and a smidge of cranberry sauce.  No dessert.  I didn't mind...I can eat stictly like this as long as it keeps my baby healthy and cooking.

That said, it was a rough week with my 35th bday and finding out I needed to take insulin.  I had my first shot the night before Thanksgiving.  My numbers that day were good but no so much on Friday.  DH and I got into a fight about it actually.  We're good now, but this GD dx has thrown me for a big loop.  I am hoping this week will be better.

    ***T&P to Breezie and Shorty***

  • Thanksgiving was alright.  It was at my MILs so I was missing my family like crazy... and my MIL drives me crazy. Not much different with LO on the way.  DD keeps us all entertained.

Met with perinatologist last Friday (20th) and everything is looking great.  Placenta, umbilical cord and baby are all healthy. I'll probably have to increase my lovenox shots to twice a day, but I'll find out this Friday when I meet with regular doctor.  I'm still amazed we're all in the 3rd Tri!!

  • My Thanksgiving was good. It was the same as last year, spent it with the in-laws. I always have a great time with them, but it's never the same when you are not with your own family. Hopefully some year we can visit my family! It's hard because it's a big get together and lots of fun with the in-laws and my family just has a small get together. So maybe one year we can do two Thanksgivings and spend one on a weekend with my family.

  • QOTD:  how was your Thanksgiving holiday this past week?  Was it more exciting than past years bc of your expected arrival?

Our Thanksgiving holiday was good.  We spent the day at my MIL house, she made a wonderful dinner.  I ate so much I thought the LO was going to pop out.  Afterwards, we went to my mother's house.  DH and I just ate dessert because we were so full.  I liked this year's celebration because everyone was happy to be together.  The only thing that bothered me, just a little, is the fact that everyone (i mean everyone) was drinking wine or mixed drinks.  I felt out of the loop, but its all okay as long a my lil one arrives safely.

My T&P are with all the ladies who are having complications.  Keep your heads up and everything will turn out okay.
