I posted this earlier in another thread but I think it got buried. I have a hard time telling if my belly is just "normal hard" or "bh hard" when standing up... because it always feels hard to me when I'm standing! I feel some soreness occasionally but I thought that was mainly RLP from walking too much etc.
Is there an area that is easier to feel for when standing? I don't want to just not notice it and overdo things thinking "oh this is just how my belly always feels". When I'm laying down my belly seems a lot softer and it's easier to tell if it hardens up.
Re: Recognizing a BH while standing up?
Well, there is a tightness you feel, like making a fist, but you feel it in your abs. I never had trouble telling when I had one.
Though................ Now I'm wondering if I ever had BH or if they were all just real contractions. Hmmmmmmmmmm.....
When I get BH, my entire belly gets hard as a rock. They are incredibly strong and knock the wind out of me....they have been this way since 20 weeks. They are really hard to miss. This weekend though I started having real contractions...they were painful. It's too early for me to be having contractions (31 weeks), but as long as I don't have more then 4 to 6 in an hour my Dr isn't too concerned (had my monthly appointment this morning).
With my first two babies, my BH were barely noticable. But when I started having conractions those were noticable...painful, couldn't talk through them, could barely walk...
