Flying & BFing

I don't know how I will ever fly with DD once she is weaned. She loves nothing more in the world than to snuggle up and nurse for as long as I will let her once we're on a plane. We made it through a 2.5 hour plane ride yesterday on a small commuter plane without having to walk around the cramped aisle with her at all (my usual tactic when we fly on larger planes). She was calm and happy just sitting in my lap and nursing on and off the whole flight.

This is the flight I took with my son in September exactly. He happily nursed for the five hour flight. It made it so easy.

this sounds great. We are taking our first flight with ds next week and I hope it is very smooth .

I agree.

Well, so long as your LO doesn't like to kick and/or the person sitting next to you is your SO/DH so that if s/he does kick - it doesn't matter ;-P

DD has been on 16 flights in her nearly 14 months of life, and bfing has always made it much easier, in my opinion. I too wonder what flying with her will be like, once she is no longer interested in bfing. LOTS of distractions, I suppose! Smile

It is certainly getting a little more challenging as she gets older.

So jealous here. My DS will only nurse side-lying, which is pretty impossible on a flight, even with the bank of seats free...

Kiddo does love to nurse but he rarely is still while nursing! I had the hardest time figuring out how to position him so he could nurse without him kicking someone or me elbowing someone - At least he was happy ;-)
