Pretty clear winner! We love the name Eleanor, we named our first dog Eleanor but she was only with us for a few months. I was in Macy's and a woman called for her younger daughter and it was Eleanor and I loved it!
We did consider Kate, but DH didn't like that it sounded like a nickname...
Glad others love the name Eleanor too! We were afraid it would sound "old lady" but determined we would just say it's "Classic" Grandma is VERY excited to say the least!
Re: Eleanor (Poll)
I think a one-syllable MN balances out Eleanor, so I voted for Paige (not a fan of Jo)
What about Rose? Some might call it a "filler" MN, but it's one of my favorites & works well with long first names.
Also:
Mae
Jane
Anne
Jill
Joy

Eleanor (nn Nora) is on our list too!! Though, if we do have a DD at some point, we *may* just give her the name Nora in honor of grandmother Eleanor.
For middle names we're considering Marie, Kate, and Katherine.
Good luck settling on a name!
Eleanor is a beautiful name (although I might be biased because my DD is Eleanor Patricia...nn Nora).
We used Patricia because it's my mom's name.
From your list I like Paige and Irene. Good Luck!
