Well, more like lack-there-of.
We are going to Miami this weekend to go to the Pats vs Dolphins game on Sunday ( yay!). DH got our tickets off of ebay and the person sent them to us via UPS requiring a signature ( for obvious reasons). They attempted to deliver them on Friday but only knocked and never rang the bell ( we were home when they tried to deliver it & never heard the bell ring). Anyways, DH called them up and since neither of us would be home today when they would try to deliver it again, they told him they would have the center hold it & I could pick them up during lunch. Sure, sounded easy.
Well, I went there and was told that, yes, the note was entered in their system but that the driver was still going to make another attempt today ( Ummmm....hello ?!?! We said we wouldn't be home so that's why we were going to pick it up). Anyways, they tell me we have to call up the 800-number again to tell them to take it off the truck ( even though the truck comes back to the place I went to pick it up from and even though the note was already in the system) so that I could pick it up tomorrow.
This is how the conversation went:
UPS: How can I help you?
Me: I need to make sure my package gets taken off the truck so I can pick it up in person
UPS: Well, I see there is a note in the system that they did.
Me: They didn't
UPS: How do you know?
Me: I just went there to try to pick it up & they told me it was on the truck and were going to make another delivery attempt.
UPS: Well, that can't be right. I see right here that it says to take it off. Are you sure you went to the center?
Me: Ummm....yes. I just got back from there and the lady there told me that.
UPS: What lady?
Me ( trying not to jump through the phone): The lady working there. She went in to their holding area, said it wasn't there, and said it was still on the truck.
UPS: But it says here they were going to pull it for you?
Me: No kidding!
UPS: You may want to log on-line and track it to see of it gets delivered today.
Me: But there is no one home to sign for it, hence me wanting to pick it up !!!
UPS: Oh, no one will be home?
Me: No, we both work.
UPS: Well, then, hopefully they will pull it off the truck and you can get it tomorrow.
Me: Is there any way I can be notified, like via email, when it does so that I do not go back tomorrow to find it wasn't.
UPS: No, but since I have this note in the system that says to pull it, they will.
At this point I see it's going to go in a huge circle again and hang up. Holy crap did I want to just reach through the phone and hit her ! UGH!

Never in my arms, but always in my heart.
Wow. I would have definitely commented.
The other day I was making hotel reservations and when they screwed up, I had to call them back. The chick had the nerve to tell me I was being rude. WTF!
What is the world coming to? You would think customer service would be incredibly important to them, to keep their clients.

Ugh, that is super annoying! I always use the line my mom uses, "Really? Does that make sense to you?" She says it really nicely like she is actually trying to understand. And then they always have to say no, it doesn't make sense and she says "Ok, then what can we do to fix it?" Works every time! The key is to be nice to them.
I definitely started off being nice but when she asked me if I really went to the center I just could not contain my frustration.
