1st Trimester

if you're thinking about getting a doppler....

i'd say GO FOR IT! we did, and i have to say, it is the best $100 i've ever spent. i love being able to hear the heart beat whenever i want. it's amazing how much at ease it has made me. my worrying has gone down drastically. just wanted to share :)

i received it in the mail when i was 10w5d, and i heard it that night! it really helped that i remembered the approximate vicinity on my abdomen that my OB had found the heartbeat...i can see how if you didn't know where to "look," it could take you a long time to find it.

When did you get yours and what brand??? I was thinking about buying one for 2nd tri but I'm afraid I'm going to want to try too early, haha. What's the earliest you heard the hb??

I bought the Hi Bebe doppler on eBay. It cost $99. I think you can also get it on Amazon for $105ish.

I heard the HB the day I got the doppler in the mail--at 10w5d.

  • We ordered ours on Friday, waiting for it to ship!  Can't wait!!
  • I bought a new sonolife off ebay for $69. I rented a doppler with my last pregnancy and should have purchased one because I ended up spending $150 on a rental.

Just an FYI- Because the effects of radio frequency on a fetus is unknown my doctor suggested I only use it once a week and to try to limit that time to 5 min.

  • I agree, the Hi Bebe doppler is great! I had it put away from my last pregnancy and I just got it out today and heard the heartbeat!
