I'm confused regarding my due date

Ok, so I was originally given a due date of July 10, but the baby was measuring a few days small so my RE thought I might be due on the 12th or 13th.  Last Tuesday I had a quick ultrasound with my OB that indicated that I was 7weeks exactly...so that would make me due on July 13 which is more in line with what my RE thought.  For some reason she gave me a due date of July 15...not sure why.

So...what should my due date be?  Whatever my Dr. picked?  The 13th as indicated by ultrasound?

Re: I'm confused regarding my due date

  • I think the due date that the Dr gives you is the one that is going to be on file. There are times, later in your pregnancy when you get your BIG ultrasound that they make a final adjustment (but it's rare). I think a 2 or 3 days off is fine. I would rather have it on the 15th than earlier just to be on the conservative side just in case they want to induce you early for some reason.

  • My doctor changed my due date after my ultrasound. I think it will stay the original date unless it more than 7 days difference. She moved my date from Feb. 28th to March 9th. She said that it is so different because I've never been regular and I didn't have an exact 28 day cycle.

  • Thanks gals!  My DH and I were trying to sort out which date to use, the first doctors, my obs or the ultrasound.  We're going to stick with the 15th...much to my mom's dismay.  They're leaving for 2 weeks the 3rd week of July...might not be here to see this surprise arrive.  Eek!
