This is a follow-up question to M+J?s post.
For those whose DH?s have had SA?s ? what month into TTC did he get one?
I thought that they were usually done at the 1 year mark, but it seems like many DH?s are getting them done prior to the one-year mark.
Also ? this may show my ignorance, but do you have to go to an RE to get an SA done, or can your DH just call their regular Dr. to get a referral to get one done?
Thanks ladies!!!

Re: If your DH has had a SA
Hey Kiwi! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
I was just chart stalking you, I'm praying for high temps!
My DH got his SA done through my Dr (not an RE) but the referral was to an RE. Your Dr can write them, might send him to an RE, lab or Urologist.
My DH had his SA done when they initiated my tests for pcos. I wouldn't get him tested before the year mark unless they are starting to test you. I'd have him tested before you start any types of treatment.
GL! I hope you don't have to bother!

Mine had his done at the 2 1/2 year mark
An RE, OBGYN, PCP or urologist can order it. We had ones ordered by all but the PCP.
Hi Riley! I did have a good Thanksgiving break. Thanksgiving Day was hectic though. I hope yours was wonderful!
Thanks for the info! Yeah, we have a long way to go before the one-year mark (starting on month 6 now), so I definitely hope we don?t have to have DH go that route.
I am definitely hoping my temp stays up, but this morning I woke up an hour before I took my temp b/c I had very bad cramps. I also woke up at 2 am with the same cramps and slight nausea. I had the cramps yesterday morning around 3 am as well. So I think AF is preparing to make herself at home, but I sure hope not!! J

We were at 19 months before my H had one.
Our Re did ours. But we go to the same PCP and they could have done it also.
My DH just switched to a new hematologist and he told the dr. we are TTC and since DH has a genetic disorder Hemachromatosis, the dr. wanted to just cover all the bases and is sending him to a urologist for an SA. We have been TTC since Aug.
He also gave us a ref. for a genetic counselor since DH's disorder is hereditary. They want to see if I am a carrier and what our odds are of having a child with this disease.
I'm glad everything went well. We had a great time too. Lots of driving, but a great trip. I love DHs family!
I'm hoping the cramping was AF realizing she won't be needed for approximately 38 more weeks!!!!
Praying for you!
