I've never had acne before (maybe one little bump every 6 months or so) but now my face is covered and makeup does not help. What kind of acne treatment is ok for me to use and actually works? TIA
You cannot use anything with alpha-hydroxy acids such as salicylic acid, nor can you use benzoyl peroxide, nor any of the retinoids (like retinol, or Retin-A).

I'm in the same boat. My face has been getting oily like 10 times a day, so I just got mild face cleansing clothes from Walmart. I got the kind that has aloe, pre moistened so I can use them on the go, and arent medicated so they arent really harsh. I thought about those clean and clear medicated pads but they are really strong and would probably make my face freak out even more.
I've always had perfect skin, so this is hard to deal with.
Ugh. PG acne sucks. I asked my doctor this very question. He said I could put make up on it. Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide are both absorbed into the blood stream. Some docs will ok it, mine wouldn't. Just wash your face and do your best with cover up and make up. Otherwise, ask your doc what he/she recommends.
I read an article in better homes and gardens this morning about a mask made of mashed avocado, egg whites, and honey that was supposed to help with blemishes. I may give it a shot since everything else seems to be off limits. I feel like a teenager with all this acne!

Is it wrong that makes me hungry? Avocado and honey sound really good for some reason...

I'm having the same problem!! Luckily for me, my landmine is covering my whole forehead... so I just decided it was not the time to grow out my bangs, so I cut them straight across and now I have it mostly covered up lol
I was told that Cetaphil is fine, so that's what I've been using, and so far it's helped to clear up the problems I've had. Maybe try that? It's about $8 a bottle, but it lasts for a long time.
p.s. Cetaphil is for sensitive skin, and does not have any of the acids mentioned above.
Also, I finally broke down and tried Loreal's mineral foundation (the powdery stuff) and HIGHLY recommend it for covering blemishes - doesn't seem to aggravate them either!
I tried everything that was safe to use when pregnant with DS and nothing worked! Right now I'm just using Neutrogena face wash and blotting all the oil during the day. I feel gross!
Re: Pregnancy Acne...

Beta-hydroxy acids are okay - like glycolic acid.
Edit: You can also use sulfur products!

I'm using Belli Acne Wash. It isn't as good as the Proactiv I was using before I was PG, but it seems to be better than just soap.
