M/S and Prenatals

Hey ladies I just wanted your opinion before I called the doctor. I have been on the same prenantal vitamin since way before we were pregnant. I have never had issues with it and when I got my BFP I still had no issues with the prenatal.

Over the last week I noticed I developed morning sickness and then realized it was more so around when I took the vitamins. So I am not sure if the vitamin is suddenly making me sick or if I am just now dealing with morning sickness 11 weeks into pregnancy.

WDYT? would you ask for a new prenatal? or would you chalk it up to morning sickness? and if I am throwing up all the time is my body really getting the supplements in the vitamins? Thanks for your help

Re: M/S and Prenatals

  • Try taking your vitamin at night and see if there is a difference. I would say it's just m/s. I had to start taking mine at night because it was so bad.

This and my dr also said to not take on an empty stomach. GL.

  • You could take your prenatal at night, or break it in half and take 1/2 in the am and 1/2 in the pm. OR You could take 2 children's chewables,  or even a regular multi-vitamin with supplemental folic acid.

  • I'd try taking your vitamins mid meal during dinner, sometimes if your stomach isn't full enough during the morning!  Goodluck!
  • I've always taken mine at night. I actually feel pretty good first thing in the morning but then slowly start to feel worse as the day progresses. I think it's bc my prenatals actually make me feel better (weird!) then start to wear off by mid-afternoon. Good luck! xoxo

  • You could skip it one day and see if that's the culprit.  You are past the crucial folic acid window.

  • I had this same problem. I started taking them at night and that didn't work either. I am going to tak to my doc about it at my appt next week but it sucks. There are days when I forget to take it during the day and I feel fine but once I take it at night I feel horrible.
  • You could try Belly Bars. They have the have the same nutrition as a prenatal vitamin plus DHA. They taste good and they are loaded with fiber.
