Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I never realized how long red lights were... and then I had a baby

holy crap! DS HATES being still in his carseat. And I mean HATES it. Any time he is still in the car seat he's crying. Driving seems to calm him but as soon as we stop at a red light, he starts crying again!!! OMG can they be any longer?

  • SAME HERE! I dread the red lights because so long as we're moving, she's calm. But the moment we stop, all Hell breaks loose!
  • Loading the player...
  • lol I hear ya!  When it works out, I try to coast to red lights so I don't end up stopping completely if I don't have to. Saves on gas, too :)

  • Yup.  There is one stretch of our drive home where there is a light every half mile or so for, like, 5 miles.  I swear last Tuesday we hit every red light on that strip.  It was HELL!
  • My LO is the same way!

  • Same here and also drive-thrus that are slow stress me out because I know any minute she will break loose!!
  • I KNOW!!! Sometimes I'll turn the corner at a red light, and eventually make a U turn to go back to where I was going, just so I dont have to stop.

  • Our baby hates it too, but we finally found a solution!  Turn your radio on to a static station (am is generally good).  Pure static is the best.  Turn your speakers on so that the sound is only going to the backseat and play it pretty loudly.  The white noise causes our DD to fall asleep in 5-10 minutes or at least settle down.  I then turn the volume down a little bit every minute or so until we can't hear it anymore.  The static is annoying to adults, but it's better than a baby who is nearly choking from crying so hard.  Hope this helps!
