GPTTTC/clomid ladies please come in...

How many rounds of clomid are you doing?

I am now starting my third round of clomid/IUI and it will be my last. My RE does not allow more than 3 clomid cycles. This is because of the effects of clomid but also because he feels like the chances of success decrease significantly after 3 rounds.

If this cycle fails (please, please don't fail), I will be moving to injectibles. I'm wondering how common this course of treatment is.

    We did one cycle of Clomid with TI, then two cycles of Clomid with IUI.  After that, doc recommended IVF because by then the uterine growths had already come back.  Plus at our particular clinic I don't think the injects/IUI success rates are that great.  But on the IF board, it seems that your course is very common.  I hope you don't have to go to injects! :)  GL!

    My RE is doing 4 Clomid cycles with me. I am currently on Cycle # 2 with Clomid. Same reasoning as your doctor- I am also praying this cycle doesn't fail. My side effects have worsened this time around. If the 4 cycles fail, we will be moving on to injectables.

    Praying this cycle works for you.

    I've not started Clomid yet, but if I do start, I will be allowed to do 4 rounds before moving to injectibles.  My Dr said they say 4 because that potentially allows for 1 trial of each dose. 

    I don't yet know if I will be doing IUI and/or trigger shots at any point in these 4 rounds because I haven't gotten all my tests finished yet.

    I wouldn't want to do more than 3 cycles.

    I only did one Clomid only cycle because it made my lining to thin.  I'm on 25mg now and get to give myself a shot of Bravelle Friday in hopes that will help thicken my lining....so if that still fails I will move on to a full injects cycle in Jan.

    I need to discuss with DH whether we should just go to IUI at that point, since injectables already require so much effort.

    2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

    I did 2 cycles of clomid and then we moved to injectibles which I start tomorrow :)

    I have done 2 and just started spotting yesterday.  Go in Thurs for a clomid check and to talk about what to do next...guess we are only doing 2

    I haven't started mine yet, but she said we would do three as well. She is actually doing a combo of Clomid/Repronex (Menpour) and a trigger. We will decide if we want an IUI or just TI.

    I think it's pretty common.  I am on my third cycle and expect it to be my last, although I have an appointment next week to discuss.

    It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

    Mine is the same way - she feels that if 3 Clomid cycles don't work, they probably won't.  3 Clomid cycles and then we will discuss options.  I don't know if that means moving to injectibles or on to IVF - I'm thinking probably IVF since our issue isn't ovulation.  I can't imagine injectibles would make a difference over Clomid for us.  I'm praying it doesn't come to that!!

    I am on my third round and I think that we will do four total before going to just injects. GL this cycle!!


    After 4 years, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs our surprise miracle is here!

    I just started my 2nd round of Clomid today, and the RE never talked with us how many clomid cycles he would do before moving to injectables.  Ovulation is our problem, so IVF would not benefit us (plus it's not covered by insurance).  Good Luck this cycle!

    I'm in the same boat -- my RE thinks if it doesnt work in 3 cycles it's not going to work. I'm doing 100mg for TEN days this time.
