Sick and Tired

Hi there!

I am new to the bump... just found out that we are pregnant on Thanksgiving morning. So excited, but so sick! Everyone talks about morning sickness- well this is morning, noon, and night sickness. GI issues, constant nausea and dizziness, and the last 2 days a slight fever. Has anyone else experienced this? I've treated the fever, and I'm calling a potential OB tomorrow morning. I never expected to feel like this... hopefully since I'm almost in week 7 it will only be for a few more weeks! Any thoughts/advice would be lovely :)

Re: Sick and Tired

  • I also had all day sickness.  I used seabands and they helped a little.  You can get them at your local drug store.  They are bands you put on your wrist and they help with the nausea.

  • i would get nauseous in the early am and the early evening (4:30ish) eating slowly and eating crackers helps.  have you joined the first trimester board?  that may help.  just take it easy and drink a lot of water. GL!
  • Hello this is going to sound funny but there are these lollipops called preggie pops(you can get them online, im a doula ordered them before) they come in funky flavors that really help nausea, also ginger, ginger tea ginger snaps and crakers(saltines before you get out of bed- and the seabands will help lots of fliud too!

  • First of all congrats!!

I too was sick all day long. What helped most for me was to eat carbs every couple of hours. Even though i felt sick and didn't want to eat that helped the most!

    Good luck!

  • I feel the same way I am about 6 weeks along. I was ok until today pretty much but I have been nauseous on and off all day long. Makes working dreadful!!  I have saltines in my desk but haven't tried eating them because I don't even feel like I can.
  • just wanted to add that you can get preggie pops at whole foods and i think i saw them at Babies R Us
  • If you're 7 weeks, the nausea is probably only beginning for you!  Mine started at the end of week 6- I'm now midway through week 10 and it's in full force!  Along with what everyone else has said, if it gets really bad and you start losing weight, see if you can get a prescription for Zofran.  My OB prescribed it for me and it's a wonder drug!  I just take it every 8 hours (or as needed) and it's been a big help.

    Feel better!
