Trying to Get Pregnant

South Beach Dieters (past and present) come on in!

Good morning, all! I just started SBD today and I had a question about what I'm allowed to eat. I've scoured the book and can't find a satisfactory answer. I have the menus for the 1st 14 days. My question is, do I have to follow that menu exactly or can I use any recipe from the Phase 1 list?

The reason I ask is because DH is not doing this with me, so I have a lot of leftover food. I spent $120 just for the first 2 days yesterday and was wondering if I could eat the leftovers from the day before instead of exactly what is on the menu. Besides, those veggie quiche cups were good and is a quick breakfast for days I have to work.

TIA!!

  • You can use any recipe from Phase 1.  Basically you can have lean cut meats, reduced fat cheese, veggies, nuts and some dairy.

No fruit or whole grains till Phase 2.

  • I actually started South Beach about 2 weeks ago. I've lost 6 pounds so far.  I skipped into Phase 2 after a week because my cravings were gone.  It's been going really well.

  • That's awesome! I'm an intense exerciser (when I go to the gym) so I'm hoping to lose at least 10 lb in Phase 1 if I can exercise most days. I can't wait for my cravings to be  gone, they're so annoying!

  • I have been on SBD for 11 weeks...I didn't even use the recipes..I just ate lean meats, and veggies (no carrots or tomatoes potatoes, and a few others..) but I have stayed on Phase 1 because I can. I don't feel the need to add in the grains yet..I don't miss them.

Thanksgiving..I went off the diet for one day. I just love all that food..but Friday..I was back on the phase I...no weight gained in one day!
