What prompted your move?
for my job. I moved to Tampa from Orlando a few years back but after 6 weeks after moving they decided they didn't have money and I got laid off. Then I met my husband...he worked for the hockey team and we moved to Brandon because it was closer for him to go to work across the crosstown. I got a job in Bradenton and was commuting for over a year 45 min to work. He lost his job back in April when they did all the lay offs so we moved to sarasota at the end of september.
What part of Tampa are you in? I used to live in the carrollwood area
I live on Rocky Point, across from Bahama Breeze. We looked for a house in Carrollwood for a while.
Sorry to hear about the job woes but it's cool that you met your husband out of it. Mr Techie's company used to be headquartered in Brandon before re-locating to Tampa. The drive was not fun.
I hope Sarasota works out better for your DH's job search. It's pretty much crap in my field. I was laid off in Feburary and prospects don't look good until 3rd quarter of 2010.
Yikes! Yes the job world sucks right now. My dad and 3 of his neighbors are out of work. Mom keeps getting cut down she needs another job to make ends meet. Sucks big time. I hope something starts changing soon.
We don't plan on staying in Sarasota long term...it's a sleepy town. We hope DH's job will take us somewhere else.
I know rocky point...we went on our 2nd date to that bahama breeze.

Yeah, Sarasota is an older crowd for sure. I hope you can stay in Florida. That is, if you like it here. I've lived in other states but for me, there's no where else that makes me feel like I feel here. Every single time I drive over the bridge or the causeway I think, "I love where I live."
The Breeze is where we do when there is no food in the house, lol. We can walk over and pick it up.
As for seeing me around, I look forward to it!
We are on cycle #1. And I think to be exact, it's pre-cycle #1. I just quit BCP. Probably won't ovulate for December, but January, it's on! It sounds so converse when I try and explain it to other people, but we decided to try now because of my job situation. We're doing fine on Mr Techie's income for now and health wise, there will probably never be a better time for me to grow our baby. I'll have many more months to keep myself healthy and quiet.
