We have a long very Italian last name. I've come up with plenty of girl names that work with it, but struggling with boy names. I want something short and unique, but not too odd. It doesn't have to be Italian, but should sound good with an Italian last name. So far I have Leo, Luca, and Rome. Any suggestions??
Re: italian boy names?
We are in a similar situation and considered:
Gabriel, Michael, Matteo, Daniel, Nicholas (I wanted Niccolo).
Gianni?
My sons are Nico and Danilo.
Stefano
Marco
Paolo
Gianni
Carlo
Roberto
Luigi
Enzo
Philipo
Claudio
Vincenzo
Antonio
Francesco
Carmine
Roman
I actually really like Luca too.
These are my uncles and grandpa's names:
Giuseppe, Giovanni, Valentino, Vincenzo, Luigi, Francis, and Michael
Or you can go a little more American and use John, Joeseph, Val, Vincent...
My sons name is Vito. It was most popular in Italy in the 1920's. A lot of people associate it with being "gangster" but those are usually people who base their ideas of Italians from TV shows. It is the name of someone who was very close to the Italian side of my family and I decided to use it. I also really like Luca, but people are using it now as a girl name (bummer) and I didn't want my son to have a name that would possibly end up being unisex.
I really like Leo.
