I took DS to the after-hours pedi yesterday since he was pulling on his ear. The doctor couldn't believe I was "still" breastfeeding since DS has 4 teeth. Duh - yes you can still BF once a baby has teeth!!
This doctor was not old either (my guess was late 30's/early 40's), so you'd think she would have known better. Just proves how uneducated even doctors are about nursing!!

So true- Many of the docs at my practice(and I'm a pediatrician) really can't believe that I've nursed DS for almost a year now- and he's had 8 teeth since 8 months!
Seriously, I think the only way to become an expert is to do it yourself. That is why I know what I do.
I think basically the only thing you learn in training is that "breastfeeding is best" but that's it.
