So who else is totally breaking out?! It sucks hardcore! Any suggestions on skin care remedies or products? Sometimes I really miss BCPs!

Hey tank! I'm with ya...I've been breaking out quite a bit, and I was super annoyed to hear that my salicylic acid cream was not a good idea when TTC. I'm currently using Clean & Clear Foaming Facial Cleanser, and that works pretty well. I get it for $3 at Target.

I feel your pain. I suffer from adult acne (hardly ever had a blemish during my teenage years when your SUPPOSED to break out all the time - thank you stupid whacked out hormones) and my dermatologist advised me to stop using all of my oral and topical prescriptions when I told her we were TTC. My skin is definitely suffering. I've picked up a few things from Origins that seem to help, but nothing works like the RX stuff for me. Sad

I was using proactive but then I also heard that salicylic acid isn't too good when TTC. Totally annoyed me too, but it was drying my face out so I guess the change is good. I definitely need to try something that works though!

I swear by the neutrogena skin ID, it's personal and comes to your house. I also swear by oil absorbing sheets from clean and clear during breakouts, usually right around before AF and during. HTH!

I look like a teenaged boy! I'm with ya. I was going to try Proactiv (just purchased some this weekend) but now I'm having second thoughts regarding the salicylic acid! Hang in there!

Yes, I feel like that too. I use M. D. Forte hydrating cleanser. It is pricey, but it makes my skin feel good. They also have a line for acne prone skin too

my doc said that she is fine with proactive bc it is just topical. i dont use it anymore because I think it was drying my skin out too much so I stopped using it after 4 yrs but I do miss it.

oh, and a MAJOR rave for pimples is aloe vera straight from the plant. you can google it. I bought an aloe vera plant for .25 cents in hd a month ago and i cut a small piece off and put the gel on my acne....GONE within days...no lie!

Hi,

It is small...fits on my kitchen counter. Shoprite or supermarkets sell a HUGE plant leaf of aloe, but they were all gone when I went the last time.

It works really well. DH is all about natural products especially since we are TTC so he did a ton of research and found aloe vera. you have to use it straight from the plant because the gels they sell are not real aloe vera (even though they say it)

I cut a small piece and put the gel only on a pimple I have, or sometimes my skin gets red and itchy and it really calms it. I have noticed a HUGE improvement in a month from this.

I hope it works as well for you. I dont rub it over every inch of my face, but on the pimples I have, or on the red spots....sometimes though it will pull the "white stuff" from a pimple up to the surface which makes you want to pop it, but aloe works even better after you pop it bc the vera seeps into the pimple and dries it up.
