We put Henry on the potty at about 18 months. He sits on it every night before he goes to bed; sometimes he pees and sometimes he doesn't. I know he is not ready to be potty trained but I am glad he is at least acquainted with the potty at this point (he's almost 22 months now).

I like this way of looking at it. Its awesome that you have a routine for him, good for you!

Both my mom and MIL did that with all of us kids starting around a year... they would read and talk to us. It's suppossed to promote positve association and take possible fear out of pottey training. I knew my mom did something like this but just learned that MIL did that the other day.

We started putting Wyatt on the potty at just over 2.5 years. He really didn't want anything to do with potty training.
Finally one day he looks at me and says, "mommy I have to pee". This was just a few weeks ago. He turned 3 in August.
