Is anyone insisting on the Dr. Sear's alternate vaccination schedule?

I was wondering if anyone is opting for the Dr. Sear's alternate vaccination schedule, starting with the first vaccinations at 2 months?

If so, how are you planning to handle it at the pedi office? i.e., have you already discussed this with your pedi, will you call ahead, or will you bring up your preference at the scheduled appt?

My OB recommended taking DD to the health department for her vaccinations. That way I can pick and choose which ones I want her to get.

I asked our pedi if they allowed alternate vax schedules when I interviewed ours. It was a priority for us. Our pedi said that there was no prob with it, it just honestly cost us more money and as long as we were ok with that then they would work with us on whatever we wanted to do.

I don't know if my doctor's just lazy, or if it's just done differently here in Ontario, but my doctor gave me the option of either coming for a 1 month checkup (which he said wasn't really worth bothering with), or just coming for her 2 month to get the vaccinations... well, why bother making a useless appointment? I already have too many appointments to go to between my DH, DD and myself, so I just opted for making the 2 month appointment (which I have yet to schedule... I'll schedule it while I'm at my 6wk pp checkup). What is the Dr. Sears schedule?

I told them we wanted to use the alternative schedule the day of the appointment. Dr. Sear's book gave me enough confidence that I was able to make the decision with confidence. The way I see it, I wasn't asking them if I could, I was insisting on it.

I chose my pedi partially based on their acceptance of the alternate schedule. At our first newborn appt. they gave us both schedules and let us choose which is right for us. They are also great about answering all of our vaccination questions fully and encouraging us to do our own research as well.

we discussed it during the interview. we are doing all the vaccines, just 2 shots at each visit. she already went to her 2 month appointment and had 2 and we go back next week for the other 2.it just costs us an extra 25 co-pay. success at 2 month though. no fussiness ir fever and she was great all day, just sore at injection site but nothing major.

We discussed it at his two week check up. Our pedi, she is actually an NP, said she wasn't a fan of alternate schedules but she respects our decision. She said the reasoning is that she used to work in the NICU and PICU and understands why certain vaccines are recommended at certain times.

we have an extremely crunchy pedi that doesn't even believe in the vaccines, but does them. We're doing one shot at a time, and refusing the ones we don't believe are necessary

We are planning to go with the alternate schedule. This was a topic I brought up at every pedi interview and we picked the pedi that basically said while she recommends the normal vaccination schedule, she ultimately believes it is a parents choice and she is willing to spread them out as much as we want.

With that said, if your current pedi is not supportive of your decision, you could always switch pedi's (of course you will have to interview more). If you have a local board, I would ask for recommendations there. The pedi we picked was a recommendation from my OB so that is another option.

Which ones are the ones you plan on refusing, if you don't mind me asking. I've been doing a lot of reading trying to educate on which ones to get and when.

My pedi was recommended by my home birth midwife. When we went to the first appointment at 4 days she said they start doing vaccinations at the 2 month check up if we want them. I said no we dont an she said fine. We aren't vaccinating at all. I've read Dr. Sears book and definitely believe in informing ourselves.
