I think I may have just lost my mucus plug. Sorry for the TMI -it was about a nickel-sized thick yellow glob. I was kind EWCMish, but much thicker.
Should I be worried? Should I call my OB? Am I overreacting and it is probably just a different kind of discharge?
Re: Mucus Plug...? (also posted on SAIF)
Sorry, I have no experience with this (I had a planned C/S with my son, so I never saw my MP)
A girl on another board I am on lost part of her mucus plug around 28 weeks (I think) She said she had been cramping a lot that day and then had a good ammount of thick greenish discharge. Her OB said it was likely part of her mucus plug, but could not be sure. She is/was on bedrest, but is doing pretty good now. Apparently even if it is part of your MP, it can regenerate.
I would call your OB or nurseline and just let them know. And in the meantime, drink water and put your feet up. I'm sure its nothing, but maybe they can get you in for a NST or FFN test or something just to check. GL!
I finally heard back. I was told that it very well might be my mucus plug, but that even if it was it doesn't mean I will go into labor. And as long as I don't have any changes in contractions (which I've been having for weeks and they are not changing my cervix at all) and there is no blood I should not worry.
glad there's no need to worry right now!
