DS is really congested

ugh. What can I do for him? He had a really hard time breathing last night and is really stopped up and has a runny nose at the same time. No fever and he seems happy otherwise...is it worth it to call the doc? We tried saline drops already and it helped a bit...any other suggestions?

    Our DD has the exact same problem.  I have been using the saline drops and suctioning her nose out, and also running the cool mist vaporizer in her room at night.  This has been going on since Wednesday, I think I am going to call the pedi tomorrow just to be on the safe side.  Also, you might try running a hot shower with the door closed and sitting with him in the bathroom.

    We're in the same boat.  I say go with your gut and call the doctor if that's what you feel.  Other things to try are saline drops and an aspirator to help with congestion....turning on the shower and making your bathroom fill with steam and stand in the steam for a few mintutes... and elevate his crib matterss at night.  I hope that helps and I hope your little one feels better really soon!

    I've noticed that the hot shower steam helps DS way more than a humidier most of the time.  This combined with elevating DS's head when he sleeps and a little bit of Vick's Baby Rub makes it a little easier on him, but unfortunately, doesn't cure it.  I know what you're going through, it's awful. :(
